EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY AMBASSADOR


Mr. Alexander SHULGIN was born in 1951.

In 1973 graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Speaks English and French.

Entered diplomatic service in 1973. From 1973 to 1998 has been stationed at the different posts at the Embassy of URSS then Russia in Paris and also at the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

1998-2003 Alexander Shulgin was Consul General of the Russian Federation in France (Marseille) and in Monaco.

2003-2006 – Deputy Director of the First Europeean Department of the Foreign Ministry of the the Russian Federation.

From May 2006 up to September 2009 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Senegal and also the non-resident Ambassador of Russia to the Republic of the Gambia.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in Luxembourg from September 2009 (presented the Letters of credence on November 25, 2009)

Holds diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

Mr. Shulgin is married, has son and daughter.
